WWII US Army Ammunition Carrying Bag Reproduction
This general purpose rectangular bag was designed to carry all kinds of ammunition: machine gun belts, Thompson SMG magazines, rifle grenades, EN-bloc clips, etc., etc. It could be clipped to the soldier’s web belt or attached to a standard carrying strap. Obviously, since they could hold just about anything, they were used to carry just about anything. These are frequently seen clipped the footman’s loops on combat vehicles. .
This reproduction is good, but not perfect, and is priced as such. It would be ideal for theatrical, or exhibit display use, or just for kids to enjoy playing WWII soldier with. I wouldn’t guarantee that it would hold up to heavy field use or years of reenacting abuse. It seems to me the thread in the stitching and the fabric weight is just slightly lighter weight than the originals.
