Check out the nice barrel on this 140 year old antique! No FFL needed on this antique which would be great starting point for building a shooter or historic reenactor, Pre-World War One, German Uhlan Cavalry Carbine. Though the receiver has some deep pitting, it's below the woodline where it will be hidden when the gun is assembled. I've included a few photos of complete guns for information purposes, but understand this auction is only for the barreled action. The great thing about doing a M1871 Mauser Cavalry Carbine project with this gun is its great barrel. It obviously started out as a rifle and the barrel was cut down to 25" It is remarkably fine with strong lands and minimal pitting. When you cut it to the 20" carbine length, you'll have a beautiful new muzzle crown too which should make for a accurate shooter. That was my intent anyway. Receiver is marked 1876 1877. This is just for the barreled action.
