3pc Swiss Army Cold War Era M70 Alpenflage Camouflage Uniform Set
I believe this Swiss Army Cold War era heavy combat uniform to be Kampfanzug 57/70 which was issued from 1957 to 1993 (after 1970 with a textile daypack). The set consists of: Parka, Backpack, and Hat. The hat appears new, while the other components are used, but in VG to Excellent shape. I found one military ZIG-ZAG stitch repair under the right arm on the side of the parka, otherwise, I see no other damage on any of the pieces. This uniform, by virtue of the day pack included with it, I would assume to be from the 1970 to 1993 period of issue, but I could easily be wrong. I have never seen such an amazingly complex garment with so many pockets (and pockets within pockets), wind proofing, buckles, drawstrings, elastic and “D”rings. I took measurements because I am not sure how to decipher the Swiss sizing markings or if the garments were tailored.
Parka: It is stamped “48” on the inside and seems to compare to a Size 48 Short
Across the front of the chest when stretched flat; 23.75” or approximately 48” chest.
Center of collar to end of sleeve cuff: 30.5”
Center of collar to tail hem: 27.5”
Hat: It is marked “M” “84/86” It has an elastic built into the headband.
