The close helm was a helmet worn by knights in the late Medieval and Renaissance period and was called such because it fully enclosed the knight’s head and had a pivoting visor. This type of helmet was used in both in battle and in tournaments because of its excellent protection of the whole head and neck.  This European Knight Helmet is a piece of art with brass embossed plates on top and front. It’s carefully handcrafted to match historical specifications. This close helm is similar to those worn by by knights and crusaders in the late Medieval and Renaissance period. Both used in battle and tournaments because of its excellent protection of the whole head and neck.
